Notable books

Hell is empty by Craig Johnson

This is number 8 in the Walt Longmire series of books, a series of books about the sheriff of a remote county in Wyoming close to the Big Horn Mountains. I am reading them in order and they have gotten progressively better. This is a fascinating blend of Western Literature and Dante’s Inferno. Well worth the read. However, would definitely read several of the earlier ones first to get to know the characters and learn about some of the earlier events referred to in this one.

Just Mercy: A story of Justice and Redemption by Bryan Stevenson

Compelling and powerful stories about the US criminal justice system in Alabama and other southern states. Highly recommended.

Rework by  David Heinemeier Hansson and Jason Fried

Written by creators of Basecamp software, this book provides advice to start up companies and other enterprises based on their experience. Provides a good perspective and counterpoint to assumptions made by new entrepreneurs and frequent advice given to them.

Essentialism by Greg McKeown

Extensive practical guide for how to identify and spend time on things that are important. Covers both personal essentialism and how to be an essentialist leader. Worth a look. (I listened to the audio read by the author version.)
